World culinary championship Bocuse d'Or starts the new competition season with main sponsor METRO

METRO and the renowned international cooking competition Bocuse d'Or have agreed to continue their cooperation for several years

  • European selection will take place from 19-20 March 2024 with 20 national teams in Trondheim, Norway, and will select the finalists for the global final in Lyon in January 2025
  • METRO is main sponsor and important partner of Bocuse d'Or until 2027
  • METRO / MAKRO national companies sponsor a total of 6 national teams in the European final

For the next four years, METRO will be the main sponsor of the Bocuse d'Or Europe, which will take place in Trondheim, Norway, from 19 to 20 March 2024. METRO will also support teams from 6 countries (France, Slovakia, Spain, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Turkey) participating in the European competitions through its national companies. In addition, METRO will continue to be the main sponsor of Bocuse d’Or World Final in Lyon, where METRO France will act as an ingredient supplier, among other things, to support the candidates with high-quality products in the demanding competition.

METRO and Bocuse d'Or can already look back on a long-standing partnership. METRO first became a sponsor of the renowned competition in its home country of France in 2005. Since 2013, METRO France has also been the official ingredients supplier for the Bocuse d'Or World Final and makes an important contribution to the preparation and realisation of the competition with its food and gastronomy expertise. METRO France is also one of the most important partners of the Bocuse d'Or French Academy. In addition, METRO has also sponsored every Bocuse d'Or European final since 2012, except 2020, and most recently the European final in Budapest in 2022.

The Bocuse d'Or is the world's most prestigious culinary competition, recognising the most talented chefs of today and tomorrow. It is considered the world championship of culinary because the final brings together chefs from different continents. The competition, which is integrated into the Sirha Food catering fair ecosystem, is constantly evolving to take account of new techniques, major social trends and developments as well as consumer demands.
