We celebrate IDAHOT with METRO-Rainbow Flash-mob

17 May 2018

Since 2005, the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT) has been celebrated annually on 17 May.
People around the world are invited to show respect for lesbians, gays and bisexuals and for the acceptance of the diversity of sexual orientations.

METRO celebrates IDAHOT with Rainbow Flash-mob

On the 17th of May, the world is celebrating the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT). METRO will announce its support of the United Nations "Free and Equal" standard of conduct for business. METRO is one of the first Wholesale/Retail companies to support this standard and joins 100 other major international companies in this endeavour.

The standard aims to ensure that all employees are ‘free and equal’ and will not suffer discrimination either within their own company, communities or within the supplier ecosystem. To celebrate IDAHOT and to ensure that diversity is a crucial part of the company, we celebrated that wonderful news on campus with a rainbow flash mob at 3 pm.
