From 25 to 27 August, the Gourmet Festival will take place on Düsseldorf's Königsallee - with over 200 exhibitors and 100,000 expected visitors, one of the largest food festivals in Europe. The variety of hospitality ranges from star cuisine and wine merchants from 49 regions to providers of down-to-earth dishes with regional ingredients and numerous food trucks.

As the main sponsor, METRO is once again an important supporter of the festival this year. "Our commitment as a strong partner of hospitality is very important to us. Especially against the backdrop of the current debate about maintaining the 7 percent VAT. Hospitality is not only an economic factor in Germany, but also an essential building block for liveable cities and a diverse social coexistence. And it is also a clear signal of our commitment to our location in Düsseldorf", says Dr. Steffen Greubel, CEO of METRO AG.

The METRO store in Düsseldorf will support the exhibitors during the festival weekend with a fast and convenient delivery service for orders placed at short notice as well as with the popular ice service to ensure that food and beverages are always perfectly chilled. "After last year's great response, we are delighted to be back alongside the organisers and exhibiting restaurateurs. The Gourmet Festival is also a highlight for us", says Michael Widmer, Managing Director of METRO Markt Düsseldorf.
