METRO named Top Employer in Europe and ten countries for the twelfth consecutive year
16 January 2026In addition, METRO AG, its service companies METRO Campus Services and METRO PROPERTIES, as well as the wholesale companies in Germany, France, Romania, Italy, Poland, Türkiye, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Austria, Pakistan and the FSD company Pro à Pro France received the coveted award. This means that METRO will continue to be one of the leading employers in the industry in 2026.
The certification is based on a comprehensive HR best practices audit by the Top Employers Institute, which assesses six areas and 20 topics – including HR strategy, working environment, training and digital HR. METRO impressed in all participating countries, particularly in the categories of ethics and integrity, employer branding, business strategy, leadership development, and organisation and change.

In 2026, the Top Employers Institute certified nearly 2,500 companies in 131 countries worldwide, which has a positive effect on over 14 million employees.
