METRO strengthens its Bocuse partnership at European final in Marseille

METRO once again demonstrated its leading gastro competence and enduring food passion on this magnificent stage. METRO France had been proudly designated as the official ingredients supplier for 20 candidates for both Platter and Plate themes. The Platter theme paid tribute to the Mediterranean and particularly Marseille’s culinary heritage, featuring red gurnard as the centerpiece of the platter, exclusively provided by METRO France. The Plate theme was dedicated to the Mediterranean surf & turf gastronomy with cuttlefish, representative of the rich marine life of the Mediterranean basin, and Camargue Bull AOP Tenderloin, emblematic of the Camargue region, both supplied by METRO France exclusively.

Teams of France, Spain, UK, Hungary, Czechia, Romania had been accompanied and supported by METRO’s subsidiaries in their national selections all the way to Marseille. France, UK and Hungary will continue the journey to pursue the culinary excellence in Lyon.

Team Romania successfully made its debut in Bocuse d’Or Europe final, supported by METRO Romania for the ground-breaking moment. The chef representing Team Czechia, Dominik Uncovsky, comes from MAKRO Czechia’s culinary academy.

METRO and Bocuse d'Or can look back on a long and successful partnership that has left a lasting mark on the world of top-class gastronomy. METRO first became a sponsor of the renowned competition in its country of origin, France, in 2005. Since 2013, METRO France has also been supporting the Bocuse d'Or Grand Finale as an official ingredient supplier, and its expertise in the food and hospitality industry makes a significant contribution to the successful competition.
