New fulfilment platform for e-commerce processing by METRO LOGISTICS

METRO LOGISTICS is launching a new platform for the logistical fulfilment of e-commerce orders in Altlandsberg, Brandenburg. With standardised processes and framework conditions, the company is thus creating a fulfilment offer for online shops and start-ups with smaller order and shipment volumes. Orders from different segments can now be processed on an area of around 5,000 square metres at the multi-user logistics location in Altlandsberg.

"With our fulfilment platform, we are targeting those companies that are looking for a logistics solution for their order processing and perhaps cannot yet record so many orders that individual logistics processing would be economical. For this reason, in Altlandsberg, spatially very close to the Berlin start-up scene, we offer a standardised logistics service for customers with an order volume of up to 200,000 shipments per year," explains Ralf Kunert, Altlandsberg site manager of METRO LOGISTICS.

Customers of the Altlandsberg fulfilment platform benefit from standardised operational processes and interfaces as well as transparent costs and uniform framework conditions. "Thanks to our efficient processes, new customers can usually be connected and start their business with us within a few days. From goods receipt and picking to shipping and returns management, we take care of the entire goods handling process and also provide additional value-added services," says Karsten Heubach, Senior Business Development Manager at METRO LOGISTICS.

At launch, the fulfilment platform covers a warehouse area of 5,000 square metres and offers various storage options and forms: "Due to the available capacities in our multi-user logistics centre in Altlandsberg, a further expansion is also conceivable in the future. In this way, we can support our customers as a strategic logistics partner for their business growth."
