INSTITUT PAUL BOCUSE affiliated branch was opened in Russia with the support of METRO Russia

On 28 August 2020, a new INSTITUT PAUL BOCUSE affiliated branch was opened in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. This is the only campus of the legendary French university in Russia and the seventh in the world. METRO Russia became the general partner of the institute in Russia and invested in the technical provision of kitchens-laboratories, the preparation of training programs and the involvement of market experts.

The aim of the project is to foster world-class chefs in demand in the best restaurants of Russia, and allow them to constantly develop in one of the most dynamic sectors of the market - the restaurant business. The teaching staff of the Russian campus is trained in Lyon, France, together with their French colleagues according to the international program, adapted to meet the Russian standards of higher education. Students in the program dedicate 50% of their study time on internship with chefs and managers in their business operations.

As Martin Schumacher, CEO of METRO Russia, points out: "Education in the restaurant sector is the key to success, a long-term and systemically important investment. The opening of a branch of the institute in Russia is intended to bring the development of the industry and its professional representatives to the highest world level, to lay the foundations of fundamental higher cook education in the country."

METRO and Bocuse d'Or

At the global level, METRO cooperates with the French university, supports the development of gastronomic culture and education. Besides Russia, the company is collaborating with Bocuse d'Or local academy representative offices in countries such as France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Turkey, Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia. METRO France is the official food supplier for the Bocuse d'Or Championship finals in Lyon, France.
