As part of the ongoing implementation of METRO's sCore growth strategy, METRO's digital subsidiary Hospitality Digital has reached an important milestone. Only 10 months after the successful takeover and post-merger integration of the Dutch market leader Eijsink, HD is starting the rollout of the integrated POS solution DISH POS in France, and yesterday it was presented to a broad audience for the first time at the Sirha Lyon gastronomy and food trade fair. DISH POS is an intelligent all-in-one cloud-based POS system that makes it easy for HoReCa operators to manage, ad-minister and optimise their business and operational processes, thus saving time and money, thanks to its simplified usability. HD's DISH solutions are already available in 16 countries, and DISH POS will be rolled out rapidly to other METRO countries after France.
At the end of March 2022, METRO AG further expanded its range of digital solutions for the hospitality industry: The acquisition of Eijsink, an established provider of POS solutions for the hospitality industry from the Netherlands, was another strategic step towards becoming a multichannel solution provider. Digital solutions are a key element of METRO's sCore growth strategy, which aims to achieve a 40% digital sales share by 2030.
"We have promised to invest specifically in digitalisation and want to achieve a digital sales share of 40% by 2030. We are well on track to achieve this – we have already recorded a 9% digital sales share in fiscal year 2021/22. With the acquisition of Eijsink last year, we have taken another important strategic step in this direction. With the integration of their POS system into our existing DISH offering, we can now offer our hospitality partners a complete digital package from purchasing to billing out of a single source, which significantly simplifies their processes. At the same time, DISH POS will contribute to linking our digital offers even more closely with our in-store and delivery services in the future", explains Dr Steffen Greubel, CEO of METRO AG.
Restaurateurs can concentrate on their business - METRO will take care of everything else. This is the approach of the digital services that HD offers under the umbrella of DISH. DISH solutions convince with easy handling, high process reliability and direct contact partners on the part of METRO. DISH POS now complements the existing services with a key component to form a complete process. A seamlessly integrated POS is the heart of the processes in the hospitality industry and thus helps to further advance the digitalisation of the HoReCa industry. In the restaurant, the new DISH POS not only connects guests, service, kitchen and counter and ensures smooth processes. The restaurateur also has further advantages: Turnover, earning, profitability, favorite dishes and flops on the menu can be tracked at any time via a dashboard and facilitate planning. In the future, it will also be possible to automatically check the inventory, order supplies if necessary and replenish them via METRO delivery services. With the help of the DISH solutions, the gastronomy guests can find restaurants, reserve, order and now also pay there - easily and smoothly.
"The market launch of DISH POS is a great moment for us," said Dr Volker Glaeser, CEO of HD, at Sirha. "Our team has been working flat out for months together with our new colleagues from Eijsink. We are on our way to becoming the world's largest digital hospitality ecosystem. We are very excited to present the benefits of our solution to a wide audience at Sirha and to now start the first country rollout in France. And we still have a lot of plans: Our goal is to offer DISH POS in all 16 DISH countries in the near future."
