After receiving the coveted Best of Content Marketing (BCM) Award in gold for the METRO Condensed Report 2016/17, the same report was now recognised with 2 more awards: The Red Dot Award and the bronze Annual Report Competition (ARC) Award.
86 pages full of questions and convincing answers – an unusual concept that has now been recognised with 2 more awards. With its numerous interviews, statements, reports, pictures and infographics, the first METRO Condensed Report following the company’s stock market listing in 2017 is a multifaceted publication. Its creative design reflects the spirit of the new METRO: progressive and modern, but always with a clear commitment. Topical issues and an eye-catching design language help sharpen the company’s profile.
The contents of the Condensed Report were in addition also disseminated via the internet and the social media to reach further target groups through these channels. The online version of the report supplements the print version with an interactive and well-structured option to learn more about METRO’s economic Evolution.
Under the motto “In search of good design and creativity”, the Red Dot Award: Communication Design every year recognises particularly well-designed work and creative projects by designers, agencies and companies around the globe. In this context, the Red Dot award has established itself as one of the most coveted quality labels for good design. This year also the METRO Condensed Report 2016/17 features among the lucky winners in the category “Annual Report/Print”. It’s high-quality design and creative achievement stood out from the roughly 8,600 design works from 45 countries submitted, and convinced the jury.
Just like the Red Dot also the ARC Award of the MerComm Annual Reports Competition ranks among the most coveted awards of the year. For more than 30 years already, this award is presented to outstanding international condensed reports and annual reports. A 170-member jury examined, discussed and rated this year’s entries. METRO was able to win them over with the concept of its online report and received the ARC Award in bronze.
“Following a recognition of the contents of our Report by BCM Award we are of course very pleased that we have been able to also score with our visual concept and online report”, said Katharina Meisel, Head of Branding & Publishing at METRO AG. “Every year, the Annual Report is a challenge that we can only meet together as a team – that this achievement has now received yet another award is owed to the great dedication and commitment of each and every individual at METRO who has contributed to the making of the Annual Report”.
