METRO France further expands distribution network

New FSD depot opened in La Brède, near Bordeaux

After opening its first delivery depot in Savigny-le-Temple (Ile de France) one year ago, METRO France opened a second depot for Food Service Distribution (FSD) in La Brède near Bordeaux on 7 April 2025. This means that METRO France is creating the strategic infrastructure for supplying more than 2,000 professional customers in the hotel, restaurant and catering business in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.

The depot covers almost 17,000 square metres, has 4 temperature zones and 20 trucks. The site will combine the delivery of 5 stores (Bordeaux Lac, Bordeaux Gradignan, Pau, Anglet and La Rochelle) and thus enable more efficient supply chain logistics and a faster delivery service.

Orders placed until 4pm will be delivered on the next day. The range of 7,500 products includes a strong focus on regional products, supporting local producers and offering restaurant owners products that come from the local area.

The depot was developed in cooperation with the logistics expert ID Logistics and will be able to process over 200,000 orders per year by 2030 to supply professional customers in southwestern France. The new location is thus contributing to the group-wide sCore strategy, with which METRO has set itself the ambition to significantly expand its FSD business within the multichannel business model and to triple delivery sales by 2030.
